Many T6.1 drivers with BearLock have written to me in recent months asking whether there would also be a suitable ARELA®️ CockpitBag for them. Now the time has finally come!
Together with T6.1 drivers and the bus community, we have developed a solution that is perfectly tailored to vehicles with BearLock.
The new ARELA®️ CockpitBag for the VW T6.1 with BearLock has been adapted so that the BearLock remains conveniently accessible and easy to operate at all times. To achieve this, it has been deliberately designed slightly more compactly – yet still offers sufficient storage space for everything that should be quickly at hand on the go: mobile phone, wallet, keys, glasses, charging cable and many other small items.

Information on adhesive and hook-and-loop fastening
Depending on the version, the bag is supplied with self-adhesive Velcro fasteners or adhesive pads for mounting on a suitable surface.
The durability of the adhesive bond depends significantly on the nature and preparation of the surface, as well as on the environmental and operating conditions. In particular, temperature, moisture, dirt, dust, grease, cleaning agents, UV radiation, surface texture, and the load acting on the fastening can affect the adhesive strength.
For the most reliable fastening, the surface must be thoroughly cleaned before mounting and completely free of dust, grease, oil, wax, silicone, and other residues. The surface must be dry and suitable for the use of adhesive fasteners.
After mounting, the adhesive bond should be allowed sufficient time before the bag is put under load. Please observe the instructions of the adhesive material used if applicable.
The adhesive bond should be regularly checked for a firm hold. If adhesion weakens or visible damage occurs, the fastening must no longer be subjected to load and, if necessary, be replaced.
A specific minimum service life of the adhesive bond under all operating conditions is not guaranteed. The actual service life may vary depending on the surface, mounting, use, and environmental conditions.
This notice describes the intended use and the mounting conditions required for the most reliable fastening. The consumer's statutory rights in the event of defects remain unaffected.

Installation Instructions
Cockpit Bag with Self-Adhesive Velcro Fastening
Thank you for purchasing our handmade cockpit bag.
To ensure that the Velcro fastening adheres as reliably as possible, please observe the following instructions.
1. Suitable Surface
The fastening is intended for suitable and load-bearing surfaces.
The following surfaces are particularly unsuitable or only partially suitable:
- heavily soiled or greasy surfaces
- silicone-based or waxed surfaces
- damp surfaces
- peeling, damaged, or unstable surfaces
2. Thoroughly Clean the Surface
Thoroughly clean the intended area before installation.
The surface must be free from:
- dust
- dirt
- grease and oil
- wax
- silicone
- cleaning products
- other residues
.
Then allow the surface to dry completely.
Please do not use aggressive cleaning products or solvents that could damage the vehicle's surface. If in doubt, test a cleaning product on an inconspicuous area first.
3. Applying the Velcro Fastening
Remove the protective film from the self-adhesive fastening only immediately before installation.
Stick the fastening to the intended area and press it firmly and evenly over the entire surface.
Avoid air bubbles or creases.
4. Observe the Curing Time
After sticking it on, the fastening should initially rest and not be subjected to any load.
We recommend allowing the adhesive bond to rest for at least 24 hours before the bag is fully loaded.
The final adhesive strength may only be achieved after a certain period of time, depending on the adhesive material used, the surface, and the environmental conditions.
5. Regular Inspection
Regularly check the fastening to ensure it remains securely attached.
If the adhesive surface peels off, the adhesion significantly weakens, or the fastening is damaged, the bag must not be subjected to any further load.
In this case, the Velcro fastening should be replaced.
Important Note on Durability
The durability of a self-adhesive fastening depends on numerous factors. These include, in particular:
- The nature and material of the surface
- The preparation and cleaning of the surface
- Temperature
- Moisture
- Sunlight and UV exposure
- Cleaning and care products
- The load placed on the bag
- Frequency of use
- The type and duration of use
Therefore, under different operating conditions, no specific holding time for the adhesive bond can be guaranteed.
The adhesive bond does not provide a permanent connection under all conditions and should be inspected regularly.
These instructions do not affect the consumer's statutory rights in the event of defects.
